FOR patients and families
Information About COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus)
As news reports continue to emerge about the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) it is important to take extra precautions during this time to protect our patients, staff and community. We are monitoring this global health issue closely and are taking every precaution necessary to limit the exposure of this virus within our office.
Santa Barbara Family Dentistry is diligently staying on top of the latest updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) , World Health Organization (WHO) and the California Dental Association (CDA)
We continue to comply with strict OSHA-mandated protocols to maintain a highly sterile environment and have increased our sanitation measures. In addition, all common area disinfecting is being done so on an hourly basis which includes a thorough wipe down of all hard surfaces such as door handles, tables, chairs and counters. The area is sprayed with disinfectant. All magazines and pamphlets have been removed to prevent the spread of germs and hand sanitizer is available to all patients in the lobby and back office area. We have postponed our events and activities to avoid large gatherings.
We will also be following the CDA's recommendations "The California Dental Association strongly recommends that dentists practicing in California suspend non-urgent or non-emergency dental care for the next 14 days. As always, it is expected that dentists will continue to be available as needed for emergency care and services."
To help curtail the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), our office is now closed until further notice.
If you are a current patient of record, and have a true emergency and need immediate care, please call our office and follow the voicemail instructions.
We are following all guidelines and recommendations brought forward by the CDA. We thank you for your support and look forward to getting through this crisis safely.
According to the CDC, the following steps are good prevention practices:
- Frequent hand washing of at least 20 seconds using soap and water.
- Cover coughs and sneezes
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily
- Stay home if you’re sick
- Practice social distancing
Our entire office is committed to your well-being and sincerely wishes you and your family good health.
